WPP increases Chime stake to 21.2%

WPP has increased its shareholding in Chime Communications to 21.2% in a move that emphasises its hostility towards Chime’s proposal to divest some of its public relations subsidiaries to a new company headed by the group’s chairman Lord Bell and vice chairman Piers Pottinger (see Chime to sell Bell Pottinger businesses for £19m).
