WPP continues consolidation with JWT-Wunderman merger

WPP is merging two of its major marketing brands – Wunderman and J Walter Thompson – into a single network to be called Wunderman Thompson.

The merger is the latest in a stream of such actions reflecting the thinking of WPP’s newly appointed chief executive Mark Read.  Under Sir Martin Sorrell’s period as chief executive, Read was influential in transforming the Wunderman network into a global customer-focused digital agency (see Sorrell successor to be announced within weeks).
