Publicis lops £0.3m off 2017 revenue as it follows WPP’s lead

After several years of campaigning by WPP, Publicis Groupe has now been obliged to accept the case for deducting all pass-through costs from revenue when publishing its financial results.  The outcome is a £0.3 million reduction in the amount previously reported for 2017.

The change in presentation has been prompted by a new international accounting standard IFRS15 that adopts the approach that has long been advocated by WPP and this publication (see WPP’s revenue growth beats rivals: better reporting method urged).
