Maher Bird blames Brexit for £0.5m loss

Digital marketing agency Maher Bird Holdings has blamed Brexit for its “uncharacteristically difficult” year in 2016.  Turnover fell by 27.5% as uncertainty arising from the referendum outcome created a reluctance among larger customers to commit to marketing spend. “Some customers removed spend entirely”, the company said.

As a consequence, the company reported a post-tax loss of £558,000 compared with the post-tax profit of £541,000 achieved in the previous year.
