Ebiquity to incur loss on selling profitable unit for £26m

Ebiquity, the AIM listed marketing performance monitoring specialist, is to sell its advertising intelligence unit to Nielsen Market Research for £26 million, showing a small loss of £1.5 million, and in doing so it will shed an historically profitable segment of its business.

According to Ebiquity, the advertising intelligence business was making a profit contribution of £3.7 million after deduction of related central overheads, representing a 14.2% return on the sale price of the business.
