Anatomy of Aegis

The sale of Aegis Group, the UK’s only independent publicly listed media buying business, to Dentsu in March this year marked the culmination of a strategy designed to break up the under-performing group.


The full story starts in 1988 with a well established marketing company that had expanded boldly into a variety of disciplines and built up a significant international presence.  That company was known as WCRS Group and its shares were listed on the London Stock Exchange.  It is a story of flair and flaws, involving many comings and goings of chief executive, and is available here to subscribers free of charge.
